Meet Megan
Hi! I'm Megan, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), and I'm passionate about helping children, teens, and adults navigate life's challenges in a way that feels supportive, collaborative, and personalized. I believe that everyone experiences life differently, so therapy should reflect that. Rather than using the same approach with everyone, I tailor each session to your unique experiences, strengths, and goals.
I take a trauma-informed, holistic approach to therapy and use a variety of interventions based on what works best for you. Some sessions may focus on conversation and reflection, while others might incorporate somatic interventions, mindfulness, art, writing, music, play, or other creative approaches. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable being yourself, exploring your experiences, and building the tools you need to move forward.
I am committed to providing LGBTQ+ affirming and BIPOC-inclusive care. I believe healing happens in spaces where you feel safe, respected, and accepted for who you are. I strive to create a therapeutic relationship where you feel supported, understood, and empowered throughout the process.
I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois Springfield and my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to work with children, teens, young adults, and adults across outpatient, residential, crisis, and community mental health settings. These experiences have given me the opportunity to support individuals through a wide range of challenges while learning that no two people heal in the same way.
At Harmony Roots Therapy, my goal is to provide a supportive environment where you can gain insight, build resilience, and create meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you. Whether you're navigating trauma, anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, or simply looking to better understand yourself, I'm here to support you every step of the way.
Services
Consultation
Starting therapy is a big step and finding the right therapist matters. This 15 minute consultation is a chance for us to connect, discuss what your looking for and to answer any questions you may have. This is a chance to see if we would be a good fit!
Initial Evaluation
The initial evaluation is a 60-minute session where we will get to know you, your history, what's bringing you to therapy, and creating treatment goals. We will talk about your current concerns, goals, and any past experiences that may be helpful to learn about. We will create a treatment plan tailored to your needs and give you a sense of what working together will look like.
